REVIEW ACTIVITIES

Here we have two activities created with HotPotates to work and review vocabulary work until the moment:

- First activity: JCross, a crossword activity were some definitions are given and we have to find the appropriate word to complete the crossword.

These activities can be made, individually or in small groups depending of the ICT tools we have. Encouraging students as teacher, every moment, to learn in an active and cooperative way!!

TOWN OR COUNTRYSIDE?

We have already work places around us, and we have seen several places we have in different areas. This time we are going to compare the town and the countryside; reading Peter and Ken texts who describe where they live. 

First of all, each student will read individually the text and they will continue speaking about it in small groups (what they think about the text, unknown vocabulary etc.). As well as, saying the advantages and disadvantages of living in a town or in the countryside. 

Finally, we will speak about all in the big groups, sharing sensations and feelings. 

PLACES IN THE TOWN

Once we have work several places, based on student’s knowledge, we are going to focus in the town. Especially in the places we find there and the function each one has. In this way, we have two videos, presenting the place and the service we have in it. 

Firstly, we are going to see the video, and we are going to continue repeating: the place and after it the place and for what it is; working listening skills, pronunciation and vocabulary.

PLACES AROUND US

In a circle we are going to talk about the places we have around us (in the city, town, village…), place we know and we go to.

We can use these questions to start with and promote the speaking:

-          Where do you life?

-          What we have in our neighbourhood/town… to go shopping?

-          Where do you usually buy things (food, clothes, toys…)?

-          Where do you play?

-          Where do you spend your free time?

-          …

After speaking look to this image, to identify the places and tell what is the function in each one. 

INTRODUCTION

The topic we are going to start working, is “Places”, there are a lot of places in our world. That is the reason for know them starting by our near environment, and the places we found there, and to continue with other places. Making a general view this topic and to move in different areas being conscious of where we are.
